Some lights continue to guide us long after we've left the shore.
I painted Where the Light Remains after a deep-sea fishing trip that my friend, his twin brother, and a close friend shared together. During the trip, the water became so rough that they sought refuge near a nearby lighthouse—a quiet reminder that even in uncertain waters, there is always something steady to guide us home.
Not long afterward, one of those friends unexpectedly passed away.
The lighthouse took on an entirely new meaning.
For me, it became a symbol of the people who illuminate our lives through their friendship, kindness, and presence.
Even after they're gone, the light they leave behind continues to guide us in ways we don't always recognize.
Where the Light Remains is a tribute to the enduring impact of a life well lived—and a reminder that love, friendship, and memory have a way of outlasting even our greatest losses.
