Tabby's Tabby

Every commissioned portrait begins with a conversation.

For Tabby's Tabby, my friends wanted to capture their beloved cat in a favorite resting place—a well-loved clay pot that had become one of the many little quirks that made their companion unforgettable. To create the strongest composition, we combined several reference photographs, using one for the pose, another for the pottery, and another to faithfully capture the beautiful colors of the tabby's coat.

It's a wonderful reminder that commissioned paintings aren't always replicas of a single photograph. They're thoughtfully designed to preserve the memories people cherish most, bringing together the details that tell the truest story.

Sometimes the perfect portrait isn't found in one picture.

It's created from many.
