Reggie

Some dogs seem to find exactly where they were always meant to be.

Reggie's journey began in Istanbul, Turkey, before he traveled halfway around the world to his forever home in 2021.

Because of his country of origin, he was affectionately named after Reggie, the turkey from Free Birds—a playful joke that turned out to be surprisingly fitting. Like his namesake, Reggie was given a second chance at life.

Every rescued animal carries a story we'll never fully know, but perhaps that's what makes them so extraordinary. They remind us that love has the remarkable ability to rewrite even the most uncertain beginnings.

One of my favorite details in this portrait is the tiny bit of sand resting on Reggie's nose. I chose to leave it exactly as it was because sometimes the smallest imperfections are what make a portrait feel wonderfully alive.

Reggie is a celebration of hope, resilience, and the beautiful truth that home isn't where our story begins.

It's where we're finally loved.
