My Reflection
Created to celebrate the beauty that emerges when we slow down, reflect, and embrace life's gentle rhythms.
Some places invite us to slow down.
During our honeymoon, we visited a peaceful reflection garden where colorful koi drifted effortlessly beneath the water's surface. There was something calming about the gentle movement of the fish, the quiet reflections, and the stillness that seemed to settle over everything around us.
My mother-in-law was especially drawn to this photograph and asked if I would paint it for her home. She has always believed that a home should be a place of peace—a refuge from the busyness of everyday life where beauty invites us to pause, breathe, and simply be present.
As I painted, I found myself appreciating that perspective. The reflections across the water constantly shift, reminding us that life is always changing, yet moments of peace can still be found if we're willing to slow down long enough to notice them.
My Reflection celebrates the quiet beauty of stillness and the comfort of creating a home where peace is intentionally cultivated. Sometimes the greatest gift a space can offer isn't grandeur or perfection.
It's simply a sense of calm.
