Fresh Tracks

One of the greatest privileges of creating commissioned artwork is being invited into someone else's story.

I painted Fresh Tracks while I was in undergrad for a family whose beloved companion had left an unforgettable mark on their lives.

Although I never had the chance to meet this special dog, I quickly learned that love has a way of revealing itself through the stories people choose to tell and the photographs they treasure most.

Every commissioned portrait is an opportunity to preserve more than a likeness. It's about honoring the personality, companionship, and countless memories that make one dog unlike any other. My hope was that this painting would allow that love to live on in a way that could be enjoyed every single day.

Looking back, Fresh Tracks reminds me that long before Linen & Hue existed, I was already discovering what I loved most about painting—not simply creating portraits, but helping families preserve the relationships and moments that matter most
